Piano Days in our House

This summer, Isaiah finally became more consistent at practicing piano. I believe it had something to do with the fact that I added piano time to his daily chore list. It faired as his favorite among his chores...and so he ended up practicing a lot more and was finally able to move on to more interesting pieces.  He's even written his own piece of music he calls The Continuous Song.

I love the fact that once he's got his pieces down, Andrew can join him and they get to play a duet. In this video, Andrew and Isaiah are playing The Wild Colt.

It's also fun to think that he's learning on the same piano that his great grandpa used to play on. I'm so glad we ended up keeping it after all. It makes these moments even more meaningful and rewarding. I guess one could say I'm becoming more sentimental as I age.

  1. Way to go Isaiah! Maybe if I show this to Mason, he'll want to pick it up again :) At least Kaiah's going strong... Good job!

  2. It really got more interesting for him when he got passed the boring pieces. It's also pretty cool to be able to play with AND be like dad. That's a huge advantage we got going right now...and we'll milk it for all its worth.;) Chuppies asked Andrew to teach their kiddos...which will help us/Isaiah continue to be faithful with practicing/learning new pieces.
